Open Year-Round
Pull Up a Stool.
Our tasting room is always open — whether there's snow on the vine rows or a June sunset making everything glow. Estate-grown wine, no attitude, and a bartender who'll remember your name after one visit.
What's in the Glass
Every bottle you'll find here started as a cluster of cold-climate grapes on this very property. Many of our varieties got their start through the University of Minnesota’s viticulture research—born for cold northern winters and turned into something worth sharing. Here's the lineup:
Wild River Red (Dry)
Marechal Foch & Frontenac (American Oak) | 12% ABV
Deep red fruit, a little smoky, and enough backbone to hold its own next to a campfire s'more. It’s got aromas of plum and black cherry, but mostly it just tastes like Minnesota grown, Minnesota proud.
Cabernet Sauvignon (Dry)
Cabernet Sauvignon | 13.5% ABV
Full-bodied and packed with dark cherry, spice, and a hint of cocoa. No fancy winemaking consultants required for this one—just a damn good, classic Cab that doesn’t require a sport coat to enjoy.
Arrowhead Red (Dry)
Marquette & Frontenac (American Oak) | 12% ABV
Bold tannins, smoked cherry, and a finish that lingers like the last acoustic song of the night. This one is a certified crowd-pleaser around the campground fire pit.
Itasca (Dry)
Itasca & Sauvignon Blanc | 11% ABV
Crisp and incredibly refreshing with bright notes of golden apple, pear, and melon. Perfect for those afternoons when you can’t quite decide between wine and ice-cold lemonade, so you smartly choose wine.
Frontenac Blanc (Off-Dry)
Frontenac Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc & LaCrescent | 11% ABV
Clean, zesty, and bursting with green apple and lemon-pear vibes. It’s light on its feet and goes down easy, whether you're sitting at the bar or hanging out by the lawn games.
LaCrescent (Semi-Sweet)
LaCrescent, Shannon, Prairie Star & Frontenac Gris | 12.5% ABV
Bright, juicy, and a little tropical with hints of apricot and kiwi. It's the white wine you reach for when the afternoon sun is still warm, the hammock is calling, and you've officially clocked out for the weekend.
Mountain Sweet White
LaCrescent, Frontenac Gris & Somerset | 11% ABV
Sweeter, sunnier, and packed with ripe pineapple and honey notes. It's unapologetically sweet and dangerously easy to drink on a hot July afternoon.
Frontenac Rosé (Sweet)
Frontenac, Frontenac Gris & Somerset | 11% ABV
A blush that’s closer to a Minnesota sunset than pink—tasting like strawberry jelly and bright cherries. It’s fruity, fun, and totally acceptable to open on a Wednesday. Or a Tuesday. We don't judge.
Mountain Sweet Red
Somerset, King of the North & Frontenac (Un-oaked) | 11% ABV
Light, un-oaked, and bursting with sweet strawberry candy vibes. This is the one newcomers always reach for first, and the regulars keep sneaking back to when no one is looking.
Something for Everyone. (Yes, Even Non-Wine Drinkers.)
Brought a friend who only drinks IPA? We got you. Here's what else is chilling in the cooler:
Local Craft Beers: The best of Minnesota's local breweries, poured fresh.
Ciders on Tap: Crisp, fruit-forward, and dangerously easy to drink.
Canned Cocktails: Quick, refreshing, and crafted with real spirits.
Domestic Beer: Old-school classics that never go out of style.
N/A Beer: Craft flavor without the ABV. Zero compromise.
Wine Slushies: Oops. We tried to keep this section wine-free, but our wine slushies demanded a spot. Blended ice-cold, sweet, and dangerously refreshing on a hot afternoon—we consider this the ultimate loop-hole.
Soak Up the Wine
Because drinking estate wine on an empty stomach is an bold strategy, but maybe not a wise one. Grab a pizza, slice some cheese, and keep the good times rolling.
Cheese & Crackers
Hey, we love our wine, but a flight of 12% ABV reds on an empty stomach is how you end up accidentally volunteering to chop firewood for the whole campground. Balance things out with some local goodness from Eichten's Hidden Acres. All cheeses are served in a hearty 5oz wedge.
Want to level up? Toss on some Eichten's bison meat sticks for a few extra bucks. Your stomach will thank you.
Cranberry Chipotle Pepper
$14
This is an all-natural, European-style Gouda that couldn't decide if it wanted to be sweet or spicy, so it chose peace and became both. Packed with real chipotle peppers and cranberries, it’s got a kick that pairs perfectly with a cold glass of white wine and zero regrets.
Smoked Gouda
$14
A semi-hard cheese celebrated for its rich, buttery flavor and a smoky finish that makes you feel like you're sitting next to a campfire even if you're just sitting at the bar. It’s smooth, classic, and disappears remarkably fast if you leave it unattended.
Tomato Basil
$14
An all-natural Gouda loaded with sun-dried tomato, basil, onion, and garlic. It essentially tastes like an Italian vacation, but without the long flight or the passport hassle. It literally melts in your mouth—just try not to bite your fingers.

Tilsit
$14
Aged semi-hard cheese with the texture of a good Colby and a sharp hint of Cheddar right at the finish line. They age this stuff for up to 7 years in Europe to get that flavor, but thankfully, you only have to wait about three minutes for us to bring it to your table.
Pizza
Woodfired Pizzas
Available most Saturdays from 2:30 – 7:00 PM or until gone
These are the real deal. Hand-stretched dough, fresh ingredients, and fired right here on-site in our woodburning oven. They roll out hot, bubbly, and with just the right amount of wood-smoke char.
Sausage & Pepperoni
$22
The undisputed heavyweight champion of pizza combos. High-quality sausage and crisp pepperoni over a bubbly blanket of mozzarella. It’s classic, it’s comforting, and it pairs perfectly with absolutely every red wine on our menu.
Pepperoni
$22
We don't skimp on the pepperoni here. Expect full coverage, crispy curled edges, and plenty of gooey cheese. Simple, straightforward, and guaranteed to make your table a happier place.
Cheese
$22
For the purists. A classic blend of rich mozzarella and savory tomato sauce on our signature woodfired crust. It’s unassuming, delicious, and a great excuse to pour another glass of wine.
Veggie
$22
A colorful, garden-party situation featuring crisp peppers, red onion, and a salty kick of green and black olives. It’s basically a salad, which means it’s healthy, which means you can definitely order dessert later.
Chicken Alfredo
$22
We swap out the red sauce for a rich, creamy white Alfredo base and load it up with tender chicken and melted cheese. It’s decadent, comforting, and an absolute dream alongside a glass of our semi-sweet LaCrescent.

Heggies Pizzas
Served daily up until 30 minutes before close
Look, we’re in Minnesota, which means we respect tradition. When the woodfired oven isn't roaring, we fire up the state's ultimate premium dive-bar delicacy: Heggies. Loaded from edge to edge with toppings, these are the legendary frozen pies you know, love, and crave after a couple of flights.
Sausage & Pepperoni
$16
A North Country classic. Packed with hearty beef and pork sausage, plenty of pepperoni, and that signature thick layer of Heggies mozzarella.
Pepperoni
$16
Literally covered from edge to edge with pepperoni. If you look down and can actually see the cheese underneath before you take a bite, we didn't cook a Heggies.
Double Cheese
$16
The ultimate cheese-lover’s dream, topped with a heavy-handed mix of cheddar and mozzarella that stretches for miles.
Heggies Six Pack
$16
The absolute legend itself. Sausage, smoky bacon, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, cheddar, and mozzarella. It’s a mountain of meat that practically begs for a bold glass of Arrowhead Red to wash it down.
Chicken Alfredo
$16
Tender grilled chicken, garlic, and rich Alfredo sauce topped with a generous layer of mozzarella. Rich, savory, and perfect alongside a glass of white wine.
Gluten Free Options
Made on a crispy cauliflower crust so nobody gets left out of pizza night.
Margarita
$16
A light, bright classic topped with sliced mozzarella, fresh tomato, basil, and a hint of garlic. It’s fresh, flavorful, and pairs beautifully with a crisp glass of Itasca.
Sausage & Pepperoni
$16
All the savory meat-and-cheese goodness of our favorite combo, just built on a gluten-free cauliflower crust that holds its own against the toppings.
Chicken Alfredo
$16
Rich Alfredo sauce, tender grilled chicken, and plenty of melted mozzarella on a thin, crispy gluten-free crust so nobody has to miss out.
More Than a Tasting Room
Here's the thing about the Wild Mountain tasting room: it doesn't feel like a tasting room. It feels like someone's living room — if that living room happened to have vineyard views, a handmade pizza oven, and a really good wine list.
We pour estate wine made from grapes grown right outside that window. We fire up handmade pizzas that pair perfectly with whatever's in your glass. And when the weather cooperates — which, in Minnesota, is a beautiful surprise — the patio opens up and you can sip with the whole vineyard laid out in front of you.
"Come as you are. Everyone's welcome here — flip-flops, muddy boots, or your fanciest flannel."

Find Us. Drink Wine.
We're open year-round, and we're easy to find — once you stop second-guessing that last gravel road turn. That's the right one. Keep going.

Get in Touch
Winery: 320-290-7955
We actually answer. Leave a message and we'll call back — usually before your wine glass is empty.
Good Questions. Here Are Some Answers.
We get asked the same things pretty often. Which means either our visitors are all very curious, or we need to be clearer on the website. Probably both. Here's the short version:
Do I need a reservation to visit the tasting room?
Nope! Walk-ins are always welcome. That said, if you're bringing a group of six or more, give us a call at 320-290-7955 so we can make sure we have room for your whole crew — and enough wine to go around.
Can I bring my dog?
We love dogs! Well-behaved, leashed pups are more than welcome anywhere in our outdoor areas and patio. Per Minnesota state law, furry friends aren't allowed inside the tasting room (blame the health department, not us!). There's plenty of shade, space, and fresh air for them out on the patio while you sip.
Do you serve food?
Yes! Check out our menu. We also have handmade woodfired pizzas most Saturday afternoons. It pairs ridiculously well with everything on our wine list, and it's the kind of pizza you'll think about on the drive home.
Is the tasting room open in winter?
Yes — we're open year-round! The campground takes a seasonal break, but the tasting room stays warm and welcoming through every Minnesota winter. There is something deeply right about sipping a Frontenac while it snows outside. Can I visit the winery even if I'm not camping?
Absolutely. The winery and tasting room are completely separate from the campground and open to everyone. You don't need a tent, an RV, or even boots (though we appreciate boots). Just show up, pull up a stool, and we'll pour you something good.
